Thank a teacher

Teachers keep the letters. Tell a teacher, coach or mentor what changed this year because of them, from you or with your child.

From a few details to a whole letter

These are the kinds of things you’d tell us. Then you read it over and make it sound like you.

  • read-alouds, science experiments
  • started the class garden
  • patient, encouraging, full of energy
  • Mia started raising her hand and asking questions
  • the day the tomatoes in the class garden finally turned red

Made-up people and details. Written with Incredible Letters.

Dear Ms. Rivera,

Teacher Appreciation Week is the perfect time for us to say something we feel all year: thank you.

This year, Mia started raising her hand and asking questions. That might sound like a small thing, but it is a big one to us. You made your classroom a place where Mia felt safe enough to wonder out loud. Your patience gave her room to take her time, and your encouragement told her that her questions mattered. She learned that not knowing something yet is just the beginning of finding out.

We think so much of that comes from who you are. You are full of energy, and it spreads. When you read aloud, the whole room leans in close, like a cozy circle around a warm lamp. When you do science experiments, curiosity fills the air, and everyone wants to see what happens next.

Then there is the class garden. Thank you for starting it. We will always remember the day the tomatoes finally turned red. All those weeks of waiting, watering and checking, and then there they were, bright and ready. It felt like a little lesson in how good things grow when someone tends them with care. That is exactly what you do for your students. You plant, you wait gently, you cheer, and you let each child grow at her own pace.

Mia feels held and encouraged in your classroom, and that has helped her bloom. We are so grateful that she got to learn beside you this year.

You are appreciated more than a letter can say. Thank you for being exactly who you are.

With thanks, Mia and her mom

Not sure what to say? Try…

  • Something your child started doing this year
  • A moment from class or practice
  • What they did that went beyond the job

Print it at home, or have it mailed.

Mailed letters go by first class. First-Class Mail usually takes 3 to 7 days after printing.
